Spader was a real 80s heartthrob before settling into character roles. One of his best was opposite Susan Sarandon as the older woman in a picture called White Palace...
- Chrisangelman66https://www.blogger.com/profile/16471674180789592940noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5739955.post-49791062379243318842019-01-08T11:36:39.512-08:002019-01-08T11:36:39.512-08:00Lovely review Chris, of a great movie.. forgot tha...Lovely review Chris, of a great movie.. forgot that James Spader was in this one. I do recommend the unedited version f the film, I still find it fascinating 34 years later...one of Zeffirelli's better later films.

I will check the widgets to see if there is an email sign up option...good idea, thanks for the tip!
-Cangelman66https://www.blogger.com/profile/16471674180789592940noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5739955.post-67569537507523908842015-04-14T09:35:19.882-07:002015-04-14T09:35:19.882-07:00I've only seen this in a heavily edited versio...I've only seen this in a heavily edited version on network TV, so I can't judge it, but I recall it being interesting at the very least. I know a good friend saw it in the movies and loved it, felt it was under-rated etc.l I think Hewitt's good looks may have had something to do with it, LOL. Anyway, he liked the picture.

I've looked all over your blog for a way to Williamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03053290865549099074noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5739955.post-68696800348050998352015-04-13T06:24:08.027-07:002015-04-13T06:24:08.027-07:00Hi Ken - thanks for visiting! In my collection I have very few movies of the 90s...Boogie Nights is one of them that comes to mind.... but countless dozens of 60s, 70s and 80s films. I also have an affinity for 1950s films, 1940s noir like Maltese Falcon and Gilda, and films of 1939. Before that, not so angelman66https://www.blogger.com/profile/16471674180789592940noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5739955.post-14820874827826153602015-04-12T22:07:29.070-07:002015-04-12T22:07:29.070-07:00Hi Chris

Your recollections are vivid and give a good impression of what it must have been like for you seeing this at such a young age.
I saw this when it opened, and in spite of being in my early 20s at the time, I hardly have any recollection of it at all. In fact, it was great reading this because I forgot so much about Ken Andersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04940648971296673233noreply@blogger.com
