You are right, it is one of Goldie’s finest performances...she has so much depth here and vulnerability as well as kooky humor. Lee Grant deservedly won the Oscar for this one, but all the performances here are worthy of acclaim and repeat viewings!
Thanks again for reading and commenting!<brangelman66https://www.blogger.com/profile/16471674180789592940noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5739955.post-60463498865501683262018-08-22T12:58:43.440-07:002018-08-22T12:58:43.440-07:00You've done a fantastic job talking about '...You've done a fantastic job talking about 'Shampoo', Chris! I quite like this film because there are many funny moments and it is overall entertaining. It's never easy to watch films where one or more characters are liberally sleeping around but it's also safe to say that Beatty's George gets his in the end.
The happiest surprise for me in watching this film was to Erica D.https://poppitytalksclassicfilm.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5739955.post-86560740191291368942018-08-21T03:56:13.914-07:002018-08-21T03:56:13.914-07:00Hi Ken - thank you so much for stopping by and for...Hi Ken - thank you so much for stopping by and for your kind words. Again, so many of the same elements inspire us and spark our creative minds when it comes to the language of movies—no wonder we have both written about so many of the same films. Your "desperate housewives" description of just how it is Lee Grant is able to steal so many scenes and how she snagged that well-deserved Oscar is spot-on. I just love her in the restaurant scenes where she's processing all that's going on between her husband, Ken Andersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04940648971296673233noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5739955.post-45114213672927632652018-08-20T17:30:52.336-07:002018-08-20T17:30:52.336-07:00Hi Silver Screenings, thanks for stopping by!

That said, I find it very funny, the performances spot-on—and Warren Beatty was my first male crush at the age of 10!
